Every booking can be shaped around your program. These are the three most common formats.
Polyphonic Contact Dance
Contact improvisation, free movement and unfamiliar music, met with curiosity. At festivals it runs as a 90 to 120 minute session: a morning practice, a pre-dance warm-up, or a standalone offering. No dance background needed.

Workshop into dance
The workshop flows naturally into an ecstatic dance set, for a single 180 minute journey. For residential retreats, multi-session modules combine with my somatic and inquiry-based practices into one coherent, embodied container.

I facilitate and DJ conscious and ecstatic dance events, creating spaces where the music and the body lead. I build sets that move through the full arc of human experience, from ground and stillness into release, connection and integration.
With my background as a professional classical composer and singer for two decades, my sound is as eclectic as it is deep. Something that serves really being moved, not just moving.
I was dancing and attending conscious events for years before I started DJing them, so I know what a field needs from the inside, as a dancer. A Dance Temple is a space to go deep into your own authentic movement and process, to let go, to discover what's already true, and to move with that.

da salmastra is the DJ project of Joachim Brackx, a Belgian facilitator and teacher who travels and hosts where he lands. His sets are built for the arc of conscious dance: grounded, emotional and driven, drawing from two decades as a professional musician. He has DJed at ecstatic dance events across Europe and Asia, and brings both a dancer's instinct and a facilitator's awareness to the floor.
da salmastra is part of a wider practice that includes somatic workshops, retreats and Polyphonic Contact Dance, so he understands the full context of the events he plays for.

- Set length from 90 minutes to 3 hours, flexible
- Available for an opening, main or closing set
- Can add a Polyphonic Contact Dance workshop on the same day, or in the same session (180 minutes)
