One-on-one work on boundaries

Some things don't unfold well in a group.
A specific person. A specific situation.
A yes you keep giving when you mean no.

Joachim Brackx, smiling at the camera, hosting a session on Zoom

Maybe you know this

You say yes, and feel your body shrink.
You feel guilty when you say no, so you don't.
You have no time for yourself, because of everything you promised others.
You keep the peace, and quietly resent it.

A boundary that has no consequences for breaking it, is not a boundary.

In our calls

  1. You tell the whole story, in your own words.
  2. Then we slow down, and notice what happens in your body as you tell it.
  3. That's where the work begins: finding what's true for you, and acting on it.
  4. It's a practice, not a piece of advice.

What changes

  1. You take a moment before you answer.
  2. The people around you start hearing a no, or a question, instead of an automatic yes.
  3. And you discover this was never only about them. It's about your own power, and your agency.

My story

For most of my life, I had virtually no boundaries.

I said yes when I meant no, and I suffered for it.

The hardest boundary I ever set was with my mother.

For years I tried to improve our relationship. Nothing changed, because nothing happened when my boundaries were crossed.

Then I understood: I had given my power away.

So I set a boundary with a consequence, and I held it, even when that was really hard.

That moment gave me my power back.

Boundaries have been my most important practice ever since, for almost two decades now.

What people say

Joachim carries both: the presence to make you feel safe in any process guided by him, and the tools to help you find the way back to yourself. This combined with the wisdom he carries offers a unique opportunity to dive deep into any topic you feel ready to explore. What I love the most is that he does not 'push you' in any direction but allows for your own truth to emerge.
VessyAfter one-on-one sessions
When most people talk about boundaries, it feels theoretical and distant. When Joachim speaks about boundaries, it feels embodied and alive. You know you are working with someone who has lived experience of what they teach, a deep sense of integrity, and a unique capacity to make even the more difficult parts of the human condition feel approachable, even joyful.
